If you want to know what true volatility is, there’s no need to dip into the stock market: all you should do is to visit North Norfolk in summer and try to predict the weather, checking three or four weather apps simultaneously—only to find out that they altogether won’t tell you anything at all. That’s exactly what happened to us today: while doing our late morning walk, we found ourselves on the way to Overstrand again, but this time our route there and back was on the beach only. Gosh, was it lovely: the sea was changing its colour from slate grey to sage, chartreuse and, finally, bright turquoise, the wet sand left after high tide mirrored the skies and the waves were glorious. As the weather improved so drastically, we passed by other walkers and nodded to each other, which means, “lovely day, isn’t it?”
