Ok, but how are you supposed to spend your Bank holiday? Jogging, strolling, walking around etc.? Nah: we got a better idea, which was disposing of all of our remaining plum crop (the one we could reach as the fruit on top are, sadly, unattainable and will be consumed by greedy pigs birbs) and making blackberry jam from yesterday’s trip to Coldham’s Common.
So there: Zwetschentorte (usually made of damsons, but the current plum harvest was a great replacement), two modest jars of jam and the yummiest skimming foam from the blackberry syrup. Not bad for a day!
