Cambridge Apple Day is back, and here are my tutti quanti on how it went.
Part 1
When you’re attending Apple Day, bought a solid toffee apple, and since then your fingers have become sticky and everything in your bag now is smelling like slightly burnt sugared apple.
What I also love about Apple Day is the opportunity to try local specialties from Cambs, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk farms and shops. Usually they are beyond excellent: cheeses are exceptionally great (smoked Poacher, brie-like cheese from Suffolk, Red Leicester etc), not to mention apple cider and pork pies. Yum!
Part 3
And the very essence of the Day—apples here and there, red, golden and green, that go perfectly with the colours of the autumn garden.
