The evening round table panel, “A World of Pain: Pessimistic Weird Fiction from Asia, Continental Europe, and the Middle East,” where we discussed the works of stellar (but under-recognised) writers and also the publishers (often, small presses and university presses) who’ve done a good job of getting English translations of their work into print, is over. Many thanks to my fantastic colleagues, the moderator Nicole Cushing and co-hosts, Dr. Cisco and Ann VanderMeer! It was a truly great and unforgettable experience!
