Our long-established tradition to visit Ely Cathedral on the first (or the second) day of the year has been highly rewarding: the joyful anticipation to see the Tree (despite the awful weather: this year it took the cake: +11, dark, dismal and rainy), the first glimpse of the glowing corner where the Tree stands, a few quick shots/selfies with ourselves and then carefully taking pics of the Tree in closeup. Last year it was golden and silvery: this year it’s golden and scarlet again. Enjoy!
