A lovely work by Lucy Almey-Bird, ”The First Snow.“ Lucy Almey-Bird is a resident of Somerset, (its rural part), and her portrayal of English countryside life with its warmth and cosiness is incredibly spot on. A couple having their tea in a beautiful rustic kitchen, and the shelves behind them are decorated with Royal Stafford pottery and Delftware, a retro tapered lamp and a transistor. The tea cosy on top of the teapot is definitely handmade as well as their socks and jumpers (knitted with high quality merino wool I bet), and the rug on the kitchen floor is old yet bright and so are the curtains. It’s cold outside and the contrast with their snug space is charming.
