I don’t know about you, but as for myself, every time I start working on something new—or return to my old paper in order to “zhuzh”* it a bit (forgive me my slightly redditish approach)—I have to re-arrange my necessary reading a bit, which immediately leads to re-organising as many shelves as possible.
So it goes: theoretical Lovecraftiana/horror studies (classical editions) first (including my Hippocampus Press gems), Modernist/Silver Age/Decadence/East Anglian folk horror things second.
Also, my art books: finally I set them all out as I’ve planned for many months, but constantly postponed. Feeling mildly satisfied: ’tis not the end, but the beginning
