Boy oh boy, the return journey was long!.. Three consecutive trains—TGV from Nancy to Paris, Eurostar from Gare du Nord to St Pancras and, finally, Thameslink to Cambridge, too much hassle with customs here and there, unpacking the luggage and finally—finally—we can sit without moving and crack sour jokes on the election updates.
Oh, and this little one came with us as a reminder of a splendid, wondrous and whimsical Nancy:
