A brief count shows that within the last few months we bought two large packs of raw nuts (relatively cheap from the birds section at supermarkets) per week. It’s four kilograms* that are regularly devoured by a family of squirrels, a blackbird, a magpie, several fat wood pigeons (who already look like pheasants thanks to their high nutrition diet), blue tits, and robins. Basically, we are in charge of a zoo, and carry on our duties.
