I fetched this link from one of the numerous Lovecraftian (or Jamesian?) groups, which I am a member of, and it’s excellent. There was an American version of “Ghost & Scholars”*, a zine called “Spectral Tales” (Cryptic Publications, USA), where famous authors and scholars of Weird fiction published their works. In the issue down below (June 1988) you can see following stories:
Dr. John Warwick Montgomery - God’s Devil
Peter Cannon - An Episode In Prep School History
Frederick Cowles - The Thing From The Sea
Jason C. Eckhardt - A Tale Of A Lonely Island
– plus a poetic work by Lin Carter, “Fear,” and the article by S. T., “M. R. James And The Limitations Of The Ghost Story” (you can see the latest variations of it in his renowned “Varieties of the Weird Tale.”
Thoroughly enjoyable: please, check it out
