You simply cannot go “full Cromer mode” without ordering Fish and Chips (plaice, cod, haddock or scampi) at the staple Cromer diner, Number 1 (we slightly cheated and didn’t order takeaway to eat on the promenade, but never mind) and the best Cromer crab salad at one of the oldest cafes in the city, The Jetty Café, for lunch.
Sadly, our favourite Browne’s on Bond Street (traditional tea rooms) has never reopened after the pandemic came in, but we hope it happens next year…
