Happy Apple Feast of the Saviour as the Eastern Orthodox Christians call the Feast of the Transfiguration, which is on August, 19.
I am not a consistent Christian, but Apple Spas is one of those August holidays that has always made me happy. The religious (and also semi-folkloric) tradition says that you are not allowed to eat apples before the holiday, only afterwards: apples should be blessed in the church first.
It is the start of the apple season here, in England, too: all those apples in the pictures were taken (with permission, of course!) from the neighbours’ gardens: our apple tree is still too young and feeble to produce a crop, but who knows: maybe next year.
