Yes, but here’s the thing which still puzzles me a bit.
Yesterday, while waiting for our performance, we decided to find a place for a quick lunch somewhere around. And so we did: there was a pub on the other side of the venue, still on Alexandra Palace territory, so it saved time.
We ordered our pizza (which was quite lovely by the way: a real stone baked thing), and at the end, after paying the bill, we had an impromptu chat with the waitress who cleaned our table, a lovely young girl.
She told us that we were lucky to get our meal pretty quickly at this time of the day. “See,” she said, “there’s a darts championship going on here, the first tournament was over earlier today and the next one will start in two or so hours. Gosh, was it noisy tho! I barely heard myself.”
Then she added, “But I doubt that you guys are interested in such things, right?”
We both replied that indeed we are here for another purpose and are going to see “A Christmas Carol.”
“Sure!” the girl said. “It DOES look like your kinda thing.”
She smiled, we wished her a good day, waved our goodbyes and left.
And I’m still thinking about our conversation (not too much, but still): what exactly was a dead giveaway in our case that we aren’t the right demographic for darts? Our age? My foreign accent? Well, sure, but there are lots of middle-aged non-British folks, both males and females, who thoroughly enjoy it, right? What else then? We looked quite average yet somehow she was absolutely right: we both are as far from such things as one could ever imagine.

UPD. Ah, ok: we failed completely it seems. I’ve googled it already, and neither I nor L. fit the right image (sadly!)
