Part 2
Our previous plans for the day were altered by our working schedules: we wanted to go and see the Double Church first and right afterwards catch the train to Köln for the Cathedral, but everything changed when L. was invited to one of the last workshops of his conference right after breakfast and, while he was there, I dealt with a few work emails. When we both were finally free, the time was close to noon, and there was no chance to do both things at once, so we chose the Double Church: I was really eager to see its Romanesque architecture and the frescoes. It wasn’t disappointing in the least: the church was empty, and we were the only visitors, which I loved.
